Your Tour Guide and Driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cappadocia between 9:30 and 9:45am (Goreme, Urgup, Uchisar, Ortahisar, Avanos and Cavusin hotels only) for a full day North Cappadocia Tour (Also known as the Red Tour). Your guide will tell you information about the region and details of each place that you visit; they will also be happy to answer any questions you may have. The tour will begin with a drive, high above Cappadocia to Uchisar Castle for a wonderful view of the whole region. The second stop is at the Goreme Open Air Museum where the best-preserved and documented ancient churches are waiting for you to explore. Then you will go to the Old Greek Village of Cavusin, to see the Greek houses dating back to the 5th century. Lunch will be taken in Avanos, the town on the Kizilirmak River (Red River) where pottery making as a local craft dates back perhaps 5000 years. You can even have a go on the potter’s wheel yourself to see if it would be a good career move for you! The tour continues with a walk around Pasabag where the unique fairy chimneys abound and you will see that some have more than one head. You will see the famous ‘Family’ of fairy chimneys, the symbols of Cappadocia and the Devrent Valley, known as Imagination Valley which contains many animal shaped rocks – how many can you spot? Urgup is the last stop of the tour where you may get the chance to sample some local wine. You will return to your hotel at around 17:00 - 17:30, full of happy memories from your day.
